AAA President, Mrs. Ghada Hayek Makhoul stressed in her speech that the main concern is to support the families and raise autism awareness across Lebanon, as Autism is on the rise, 1 in 68 children are actually diagnosed with Autism and need Early Intervention. Also, the main goal of the association would be the establishment of a specialized center with trustworthy caregivers to take care of autistic adults, since the parents are extremely worried about their children, especially after their departure or their disability.
A short movie was presented showing some cases of children with autism and their parents’ hard work in teaching them simple self-care skills, as most Autistic individuals can’t become independent and thus need full time supervision and support, which implies a high cost on the families.

AAA Autism Awareness Association would like to thank all supportive friends who participated and contributed to make this event a successful one.

Many thanks for Chateau Musar Winery and all Tombola gifts sponsors !
